Light plane crashes in S. Korea, injuring 2

SEOUL, May 23 (Xinhua) -- A light training plane crashed Saturday in South Korea's southwestern county of Haenam, leaving two people seriously injured, Yonhap News Agency reported.

The aircraft crashed at around 3:10 p.m. local time in a forested area in Munnae Township of Haenam County, South Jeolla Province, according to fire authorities.

A trainee and an instructor, who were on board the plane, were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. One of the aircraft's wings was badly damaged, but no fire broke out after the crash.

Aviation accident authorities are expected to investigate the exact cause of the crash.
