TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran's men's table tennis team claimed a bronze medal in the 2022 Asian Games on Monday.

Team Melli's Noshad and Nima Alamian, who had defeated Japan 3-0 in the quarterfinals, failed to secure a place in the final after losing to South Korea 3-0 at the GSP Gymnasium.
It was Iran's first medal in table tennis after 65 years.
Iran had previously defeated Bahrain and Mongolia and lost to Hong Kong in Group E.
A record high of nearly 12,500 athletes from 45 countries and territories compete across 40 sports in the 2022 Asian Games.
Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to the Games in 34 sports events.
