SEOUL, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's real gross domestic product (GDP), adjusted for inflation, grew 0.3 percent in the third quarter from the previous quarter, central bank data showed Tuesday.

It was down from the increases of 1.7 percent in the first quarter and 0.8 percent in the second quarter respectively, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).

Private consumption slumped 0.3 percent in the third quarter on a quarterly basis, with facility investment retreating 2.3 percent and investment in the construction sector declining 3.0 percent.

The government spending advanced 1.1 percent in the quarter, and export went up 1.5 percent on strong demand for oil products, machinery and equipment.
