African country becomes recipient of US funds
South Korea News.Net Thursday 20th November, 2008
The government in Ghana has put aside funds for development projects, such as the rebuilding of schools and other buildings destroyed by floods.
The money will come from an independent agency of the US Government, the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
The US agency has so far provided Accra with $547 million in grants for poverty reduction programs, mostly in agriculture and infrastructure.
Ghana was selected to receive MCC funds based on its private sector growth and its commitment to democratic governance.
